Using & Downloading ZOOM

Pastor Bruce has mentioned a few times about us trying ZOOM for all of us to talk to each other. On Monday evening, he said that if there were some of you who downloaded it, perhaps we could try it out on Wednesday night.  ZOOM is an application that allows you to talk with another and/or have “virtual meetings.” It is free to use. The free version allows for about 40 minutes of talk time.
Before using ZOOM, here are the things you need to do:
1. Go to the website and sign up for an account. It says use your “work email address.” That very much can also be your personal email address. You can also sign up using your Facebook or Google account.
2. Download ZOOM.
You can also download ZOOM in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE for Android Phones and also in the APPLE STORE. In the GOOGLE PLAY STORE, it can be found under ” ZOOM CLOUD MEETINGS.” If you download the ZOOM App in Google Play Store or Apple Store, once you download it, it will probably prompt you to create an account or sign in…. If you already did step 1, you should just need to sign in.
3. Send Pastor Bruce your email address that you would like him to send your ZOOM invite to. (if you want to participate).
4. Pastor Bruce will send  you an invite to the ZOOM conference once he opens up the room. You then will open that email and click on the link provided. That will take you to the “virtual conference room.”
5. Using ZOOM. When you begin using ZOOM, make sure there is NOT A LINE CROSSED out through the little MIC picture on the bottom of the screen. That will allow your device to capture your audio. If there is a line crossed through it, click it to uncross it. For VIDEO, if there is a line crossed out through the little video icon, click it to uncross it to show video (if you want to)… I think Bruce also has the option to black out your screen if you don’t want video to be shown.
6. Should you have any questions about use, you can call Ariana or Pastor Bruce.

AUMC offering “TEXT TO GIVE”

Let’s Connect With Hearts

Good morning!

Through Pastor Bruce’s chat last night, and several texts and a few phone calls shares with others, an idea that originated from Monica Green has been shared. We can put hearts on our home windows or our front doors to show that we are connected together…. And there are already hearts on our church windows and doors to show our love, compassion and to represent we are all still connected together despite of our social distancing…
If you’d like to be a part of this, simply put a red heart on your home windows and/or front doors to show we are all connected 🙂 Maybe the idea will pass on throughout the community!
Hope everyone is doing well.
See you at worship online Sunday at 9:00 am!

March 22, 2019 Weekly Email

Good morning!
Yes, even though our BUILDING is closed, there still is CHURCH, so there IS a weekly email. 😀
It might be a little short, but through these emails, I hope to deliver a bit of hope and maybe a bit of joy as we conquer COVID19.
Despite our building being closed, there still is church, as WE are the church. We are doing our best to stay connected using the resources we have on hand,
and we are still doing service by feeding those who are hungry and in need through Community Meals and the Food Pantry. We are accepting appointments by those
who want to visit God’s Closet. We are still serving.
Since Monday evening, Pastor Bruce has been going live about 9:30 in the evenings.
If you have missed any of his videos, you can see them on our video section on the church Facebook page at :
Last Sunday, we had our Les Miserables Bible Study online via Facebook as well. You can see that video by clicking on the link below:
This Sunday, there WILL be WORSHIP. It will be online via Facebook LIVE on our church Facebook page.
This Sunday, there WILL be the LES MISERABLES Bible Study at 4:00 pm via Facebook Live on our church Facebook page.
Also keep in mind, we still will be taking up a Sunday offering. It is important that we keep up with our offerings even though
we are not together in person and that our building is closed. CHURCH is still happening
You can mail a check to the church, you can bring a church to the office or put it in our slot, or
you can give online by clicking on the link below:
Newsletter information:  I will be putting out a newsletter and have it available the first Sunday of April as we always plan.
I would like to ask for stories from you.  There have been many who have been staying home – whether they are working from home
or self isolating and practicing social distancing. I want to hear YOUR stories. What are you doing during this time? How have you
felt about COVID19 and has it impacted your daily life? Please send me a few of your thoughts and I would like to put them in the
newsletter for a special section in the newsletter. Let’s share stories with each other, so that we can all still feel connected.
One last thing, after some research I found an article titled, “10 Ways Christians Can Exemplify Faith and Peace during COVID-19.”
Click on the link below to give it a read….
I hope that everyone is doing well. Do your best to stay in touch by staying connected with family, church family, friends
and checking in on your neighbors. I know that here in Arthur, we are a community that helps one another and we will
make it through this.
Don’t forget to attend worship online this Sunday on our Facebook page, join our online Bible study or
join us in prayer at 5:30 pm.
Have a great rest of your week and weekend. Stay safe- and wash your hands!

Food Pantry Donations needed!

Due to children being home from school, some families not working as much and other issues related to COVID19, Jill is getting low on items in our food pantry.

If anyone would like to donate to the food pantry, it would greatly be appreciated! You may donate during office hours Monday-Thursday from 9:00 -4:00 pm (We are closed during lunch). Or you can call our office to schedule a drop-off: 543-3159.

During the COVID19 though, we do ask that you are not sick or showing any symptoms when you make a donation to protect your health as well as the health of others.

Thank you for your continued support of the food pantry!
