Vine Street Wagon Train donates food to our food pantry

On Sunday, Oct 2, 2016, the Vine Street Christian Church brought over 10 wagons filled with food for our food pantry! Then, they joined us for lunch during First Sunday Lunch. We were blessed with both their donation and company. It was a wonderful morning!

Food Pantry news for October 2016

The pantry continues to be busy.  Each month we get new families.  On Oct. 2, we received the “Wagon Train “of food from the Vine Street Christian Church.  Their continued support of the food pantry project is very much appreciated!
I am still low on toiletries such as tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant and body soap.  Cereal is another thing I go through a lot of because I try to give each family 2 or 3 boxes. As always, thanks for supporting our outreach project.     In His Service, Jill Strawn

God’s Closet News for October 2016

The Ramsey family has enjoyed a great trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma this past month to celebrate our great-grandson Jack’s third birthday and get acquainted with our beautiful two-month old great granddaughter Olivia. What a blessing they are!
While we were there, we visited the Oral Roberts University to see the huge statue of “Praying Hands.” (According to an online source, they are 60 feet tall and are made of 30 tons of pure bronze-when they were built, they were one of the largest pure bronze statues in the world).
On the “Praying Hands” is the scripture “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man– Luke 2:52.

We attended the Hugh Church & Charismatic service Sunday morning– there must have been 1,000 people there! We were offered ear plugs which we used. What an experience! But we are always glad to come home.

I want to thank all the members who have donated to the closet the past two months in any way. With prayers, clothing, bedding, furniture or funding , it has been a great blessing to many. Children’s clothing is always  welcome.

Currently, regular sweatpants sizes 4– 14 are needed.                 In His Service, Iris Ramsey
