March 2017 God’s Closet News

We have had a busy month with several large donations of clothing of all sizes-many new “on sale” items of clothing for children and adults which included winter clothing and several children’s coats. We also had three blankets and several receiving blankets for babies that were donated from the Crafty Crafters. We had a pair of baby shoes left on our door knob last week and then not to soon after—we had a lady come in asking if we had any baby shoes! I sure hoped that they fit the little boy! Thanks to all of those who have donated to the closet this past month! It sure made our 42 shoppers happy! Spring is on the way!

March 2017 Food Pantry News

February has been an exciting month!

There is a family living in Arthur who haven’t had a working oven for months.  Then the top of the stove went out.  They were trying to feed a family of 7 on a single burner hot plate.  I took food pantry donations and bought a used stove for this family.  I discussed the whole situation with the head of our Administrative Council.  We both agreed our congregation would be in favor of helping this family.  The family was very appreciative! Even the children thanked me.

On Saturday, February 11, Howard & Iris Ramsey and Marilyn Allison & I delivered 17 Valentine “goodie boxes” to senior and homebound members of our congregation.  It was a rewarding experience.  We all enjoyed visiting with these members and I feel they enjoyed the visit too.  If anyone knows of someone who needs to be added to our list, please let us know.  We would also welcome anyone who would enjoy joining this new outreach program.

The pantry continues to be busy.  I am getting low on shampoo & conditioner, fruit juice, applesauce and saltine crackers. As always, thanks for supporting our outreach program.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: February 22, 2017

The construction workers have had some beautiful weather to work in… For the most part, it has been a mild winter.
A lot has been happening in our new addition lately. Drywall has been added, windows are being put in and light fixtures are being put up. Shingles are also starting to be added. Be sure to come by and have a look. If you would like to fund our new addition, donations are still being taken too. No amount is too small.
