April 2017: News from God’s Closet

We have received donations of spring clothing for children and hope to receive more the next few weeks. We had a very happy boy walk down our hall with a very nice pair of athletic shoes on his feet last Wednesday evening.

It will soon be time for summer shorts and tops –if anyone has any outgrown items to donate!

We have had requests for sheets and pillow cases, towels, wash cloths and dish towels. We can always use diapers, laundry soap and bar soap.

Thanks for all of your support to this very needed outreach and enjoy the Easter season. The Easter Bunny will be delivering to 26 friends soon!

April 2017 Food Pantry News

April is going to be another exciting month for our outreach program.  On Sunday, April 2, the Vine Street Christian Church is returning with their semiannual pilgrimage to our church with food for the food pantry.  Afterwards they will join us for lunch and fellowship.  We really appreciate their continued support of our outreach project for the community of Arthur.
Iris Ramsey and I are busy collecting “goodies” for our Easter boxes for our senior and homebound church members.  Our list has grown from 17 to 28.  Howard & Iris Ramsey and Marilyn Allison & I plan to deliver them on April 6. We got our Wednesday after school program involved this time.  Ruth Miller and Gay Davis’s groups made personalized Easter cards for us to include in the boxes.  We appreciate the enthusiasm and talent of our young people!

Construction Update (as of March 12)

Some got the opportunity to take a tour through the new addition on Sunday, March 12 after worship service… There is drywall in every room, windows, doors and light fixtures. They are also beginning to attach the two buildings together…
